The ten-kilometer road with a panoramic view of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and Corsica runs through the entire Costa del Sole, where you can find beautiful coves with equipped sandy beaches and rocks for bathing. There are many hidden beaches that can only be reached by sea.
The Costa del Sole consists to a large extent of granite and metamorphic rocks. The vegetation consists of bushes of cistus, rosemary, lavender, helichrysum, broom and the typical Mediterranean grapevines.

Small streams run through the two pearls of Pomonte and Chiessi, small fishing villages where the peasant tradition of Elba is still alive.

The Costa del Sole association was founded in 1998 to improve the south-west coast of the island of Elba, connecting the villages of Pomonte, Chiessi, Colle d’Orano, Seccheto, Fetovaia and Cavoli. There are about 20 family-run businesses here.
This is the best known and most appreciated stretch of coast by tourists visiting the island, an extremely delicate habitat that must be cherished and protected for future generations.
